So on Thursday I went to the Spring Into the Future event where I got to hear Veronica Rossi, Cynthia Hand, Marie Lu, Anna Carey, and Tahereh Mafi speak. It. Was. Awesome. I obviously got some books signed and Tahereh and Veronica were handing out signed bookmarks as well! I haven't read Unearthly or Shatter Me yet (I'm shamed), but am looking forward to them.

I decided this week it might be fun to make a video for my IMM. Not sure if I'll do this again. I'm kind of regretting it as I'm not good at watching myself on camera (says the girl who went to school for acting), but my roommate did a really good job of editing so here it is. Yes, my roommate helped me film it and edited it for me. She went above and beyond what I expected and has now given me high standards to keep to (if I do this again). Silly, McKenzie. That means thank you! Anyway, she even added a "blooper reel" to the end of it, so you can stay and watch me not be able to do it in one take. I'm so jealous of people who can do that!

My book week started on Monday when I received an ARC of Pushing the Limits in the mail from Hayley at Booking it With Hayley G!! Thank you Hayley! You can't see the title because the reflection is horrific, but I swear that's what the book is.

Then on Thursday evening, I attended a Penguin author dinner with other local booksellers for JESS ROTHENBERG! OMG, I was so excited. It was a wonderful evening with the wonderful Jess who has the fantastic book The Catastrophic History of You and Me coming out February 21st. I got my copy that I received a couple of weeks ago signed and picked up a signed copy to giveaway in the next week. Watch out for it!

I had a pretty awesome week this week! Not in quantity, but in quality:

-I attended the Tour de Nerdfighting event that I planned for my store (so I guess I had to be there, haha!) and got a copy of The Fault in Our Stars signed. 

-Purchased my own copy of Cinder because the book deserves a spot on my shelf. 

-Penguin sent my store a final copy of Jess Rothenberg's The Catastrophic History of You and Me which I took upon myself to take home and own (the package had my name on it!). You can read my earlier review here. And I just realized I had typo-d her last name in the review, so that has been fixed. EMBARRASSMENT! And they DID keep the shimmery cover! Good on you, Penguin.

This was a great book week for me! I got to meet the fantastic Robin LaFevers and got two signed ARCs of her upcoming book Grave Mercy. While at this author dinner, I met some wonderful people from another children's bookstore in Southern California and while talking to Lauren (one of them) I mentioned that my store hadn't received an ARC of Revived. The next day she contacted me and said she had an extra copy she could send me and I accepted. Well to my excited surprise, Lauren also sent me some ARCs that she enjoyed! What a sweetheart!
